Feedback- Amy and Ben

Amy and Ben were fantastic clients, fun, relaxed and I had a great time photographing their wedding. Their wedding was some what different as they had a UK wedding at Wood Hall near Wetherby in the UK then flew out to Australia to have another blessing over there. I was fortunate to follow them to both venues which gave us a wide range of photos for the album!!

I managed to get their album to just just in time for xmas and it did look amazing. I am sure they had great fun showing the family over the festive period. I got a little message from them which read:-

"Thanks so much for our wedding album, it is amazing and we love it! You did an awesome job, thank you. Amy and Ben.

It was a great wedding and here is one of my favourite shots from the Australian part of the wedding.

A little feedback!

It is always great when the client gets their completed album. Every one of our albums is a bespoke product made by the finest manufacturer Jorgensen of Australia. I got a message recently from Jillian Bechelli who received her album, she was so happy with the album:-

"Our album arrived today and we love it- thank you so much!"

Jillian got married to Damien in Italy at Villa San Crispolto as one of our Romantic Italian Weddings Packages. It was great working with them and we look forward to returning to Italy again in 2011.

Gareth and Helen- Italy wedding

It was a great finish to the wedding season with a trip back over to Italy for Gareth and Helen’s wedding. They were married as part of our Romantic Italian Wedding package with Marco in Italy. Set amongst the hills on the Tuscany and Umbria border it makes for one of the most amazing wedding venues. The wedding ceremony took place in the Town Hall at Cortona, followed by the reception at the stunning Villa San Crispolto. Their photos will be in the client area very soon, for the meantime here are a few from the day.

Debbie and Pete Wedding- Wood Hall

Wood Hall near Wetherby is one of Yorkshire’s prestigious wedding venues. I was there recently on a beautifully sunny winters day to photograph the wedding of Debbie and Peter. It was a fantastic day, very relaxed and fun which made the perfect atmosphere for some stunning wedding photographs.

Below are a few from the day, you can see more images from the day on our Facebook page, click here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Riff-Raff-Photography/145708852139564?v=wall&filter=1

A week in Mull ;-)

Last week I was up at Mull to photograph a wedding and took a little bit of time out to grab some photos of Glengorm Castle. It is a stunning building and a place I never tire of going to. The staff there and the owners of the castle are fantastic people and always make you feel so welcome. It is an amazing wedding venue with dramatic views looking out to the Western Isles, such as Col, Tiree, and the Isle of Skye. For those regular visitors to my blog you have probably seen snippets of video here of sailing past the castle on route to a night on the boat in Tobermory!!

Here are a few from last week and an older photograph showing what it can be like with a dusting of snow!!

Petrina and George- Wedding

Glengorm Castle on the Isle of Mull is one of my favourite venues. It has a commanding position right on the northern tip of Mull and makes for one of the most amazing wedding venues on the West Coast of Scotland. Petrina and George got married there last week and I was fortunate enough to be asked to do the wedding photography. Here are a few from the day.

Catherine and Kevin Wedding- Walworth Castle

A church service at St Edwins Church in Darlington, followed by a fantastic reception at Walworth Castle were the venues for Catherine and Kevin’s wedding and reception. In her own admission Catherine hates getting her photograph taken so I had to work with her to keep her smiling and get some amazing photos ;-)

There were some amazing opportunities for photographs within the grounds of the church and at Walworth Castle. I wanted a final photo at the end of the evening, as a last photo in the album, one to show the dramatic venue and the bride and groom. We finally got it as the last shot of the day, and it is one I know Catherine and Kevin will love!!

Steve and Sally Breen- Wedding Rudding Park

Rudding Park near Harrogate is one of North Yorkshire’s premier wedding venues. For me it has fantastic grounds, great walls and architecture, which makes great opportunities for wedding photographs. Steve and Sally are also a very relaxed couple that were up for pushing the camera to its limit to get some amazing photos.

We had a great day and the weather was incredibly kind to us after what had been a very rainy morning. The sun came out and they were able to enjoy a glass of champagne out on the terraced garden.

Mike and Justine Sharman- Wedding Byland Abbey

Mike and Justine’s day was an emotional day to say the least. The whole day was about being with their friends, some of which had travelled from New Zealand to be at the wedding. They chose one of the most stunning backdrops for wedding photographs, Byland Abbey. Byland Abbey is situated within the rolling hills of North Yorkshire and has the famous Abbey Inn right next to the it!!

The whole day was a wonderful time where we were able to get some amazing wedding photography done. I look forward to meeting Mike and Justine when they return from honeymoon to view their wedding photographs, no doubt with a tear of joy in their eye!

Bobby and Lisa Pre-wedding Shoot video

I was so pleased to hear that my brother-in-law had plucked up the courage to propose to his girlfriend Lisa. They are the perfect couple, always smiling, having fun and living life to the full. I went down to Cornwall to do the photoshoot with them and spend some time down there.

I wish them every happiness together and here is a short video with the images from the day.

Enjoy ;-)

Karen and Toby- Pre Wedding shoot

I met up with Karen and Toby at the weekend to shoot their pre-wedding photos. They are due to get married at the stunning Goldsborough Hall in Harrogate and I look forward to doing their wedding photography.

They wanted a different location so we went up to Richmond and shot some photos by the river and at Easby Abbey. Like me they love the texture of the stone work and it gave us a great scope to start playing with the flashes and creating some amazing shots.

Here is a couple from the day, enjoy ;-)

A huge Thank You to Sally!!!!

For those people who check out my blog regularly you will know that when I am not behind the camera I am normally sailing a yacht on the West Coast of Scotland ;-)

A few weeks ago I took some time out to do week of tuition with my instructor called Sally. Now Sally is quite an inspirational character, some may say quite a task master, she can put a boat anywhere, sail it in any conditions- she just does it!!! So that is quite a good person to learn from and I had an amazing week of testing conditions. At the start of the week I was out of my comfort zone at about 20 knots of wind (about a force 5), by the end of the week I wasn't going out to play in anything under 25-30 knots of wind (about a force 7)!!!!!

I passed at the end of the week which I will always be grateful to Sally for. So that now puts me at the Coastal Skipper level which was my aim for 2010 ;-) So from here on I will be getting as much practice as possible to gain more experience, so if I am not behind the camera you will find me on the West Coast of Scotland!!

Thanks Sally, here is one for your wall (only slightly Photoshopped, but only for the effect!!) ;-)

Sarah and Stuart- Wedding Aldwark Manor

It was great to be back at Aldwark Manor again to photograph Sarah and Stuart's wedding. The wedding was very interesting with a display of birds of prey with the large owl stealing the show! Aldwark Manor is a beautiful venue with great opportunities to make some amazing photographs on the bridge and within the trees. We had a great day and here are a few photos from the day.
