Harrogate Photoshoot

On Location with Katie Black

Some great fun was to be had this week in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, which saw the beautiful Katie Black stepping up in front of the camera for our off-camera flash work, resulting in some great portraiture.

It's been a while since Riff Raff Photography has caught up with Katie, and after spending some time with us in the past, I'm pleased to see some new shots for 2014.

After starting out at one of Harrogate towns multi story car parks, we managed to capture some great dynamics with the background lit up in a dark blue whilst capturing the light perfectly out front. Katie was fantastic and knew exactly how to work the camera, providing some great initial photos.

Once we'd warmed up, we moved on to the nearby Cheltenham Road to find our next shot. I initially saw this one before Katie arrived and knew that it had to be included in the album. What struck me most was the rusted blue doorway surrounded by texture brickwork which was definitely in need of a lick of paint. Although clearly in need of work, this made for a great photo and the results are outstanding!

The next shot was up and this saw us moving on to find a multitude of different colours to play with, and after some playing around, the amazing photos just kept coming. This time with modern array of bricks and an old, green doorway, we managed to capture some fantastic dynamic shots. Katie, still looking natural in front of the camera, brought the camera alive and the photos speak volumes of this.

For our final shots, we used some natural lighting on a long lens. I have to say that the last shot is one of my favourites from the whole album. Katie's incredible blue eyes just melt the camera.

To say I'm happy with the results is an understatement, why not have a look for yourself and leave a comment?

Keep an eye out for some more work appearing on the blog!
