Nicola and Alan's Wedding- Brinkburn Priory

Northumbria Wedding Photography- Brinkburn Priory

Brinkburn Abbey is one of Northumberland's finest wedding venues. It is a stunning backdrop for some amazing wedding photography and was the choice of venue for Nicola and Alan. The abbey is nestled in its own grounds alongside the river and has a large renovated house which has lovingly been restored and is the venue for Nicola and Alan's civil ceremony.

They were joined by friends and family from all over the UK who wanted to be part of the happy couples big day. Nicola had said to me that colour was an important part of her day and the guests wore some lovely summery colourful outfits and hats, and summer was there for them. After the rather cool start to the wedding season this day was positively tropical, blue skies warm temperatures made for a fantastic day.

Nicola was originally from Whitley Bay and getting some photos of her in her wedding dress on the beach was an important aspect of the day for her. With the military timing that I could only expect from Nicola she was in her dress on time and it was a quick hop off to the beach to get the shot. Nicola wore a stunning Jenny Packham dress which flowed beautifully in the sea breeze.
I joined some of the guests at the local Anglers Arms who were enjoying a glass of champagne in the sun. When I joined the boys at the abbey they were  looking very dapper in their suits, I think for Alan the nerves were just starting to get the better of him!

After an emotional ceremony in the abbey and some amazing songs by the choir the garden party started. Emma and her team at Brinkburn Priory kept the champagne flutes full all afternoon and everyone had an amazing time chatting and enjoying the day. The wedding breakfast and evening reception rolled into one inside the Papakata tent that was on the lawn. The whole day was fantastic and I am so pleased to be part of their day. Here are some photos from their wedding day at Brinkburn Priory.

Emma and Dan- Engagement Shoot

Emma and Dan are due to be married at the stunning Doxford Hall in Northumbria. We took some time out to meet, make all the final plans and use the opportunity for an engagement shoot. Both Emma and Dan are quite shy in front of a camera so it was a great opportunity for a dry run and to see how I work behind the camera. I was shooting from a long lens to get some distance between us and they soon relaxed to make some great shots.

Emma and Dan’s wedding day at Doxford Hall is all about a colourful, fun day. It is easy to see why when you meet them, I look forward to spending the day with them.

One of the photos from this shoot will be framed for all the family and friends to sign the mount as part of my Engagement Shoot package.

Becki and Russell's UK Blessing

Yorkshire Wedding Photography

Shortly after landing back into the UK from Sorrento it was round two of Becki and Russell's wedding. The blessing was to be held at a local church which had close family connections then onto the reception at Crow Hill Hotel. The weather was a little cooler than we had out in Italy but more akin to what I would expect for my Yorkshire Wedding Photography!

The church was on at quite a rural location, on a hilltop with a pub next to it! The guys grabbed a quick pint at the pub before making their way in for the blessing. The girls arrived in style, if not a little fashionably late for a lovely family blessing at the church.

The Crow Hill Hotel was a perfect location for the wedding reception. The building has a real architectural feel to it however keeps its homely feel. The wedding breakfast and speeches were held in the house, then the party started in the marquee. There was a little surprise behind the curtains in the reception area, the guests were gathered for the unveiling of Becki and Russell's cake. This cake was no ordinary cake, it was a Choccywoccydoodah cake. The cake was a piece of art, sculptured from white chocolate in an Italian theme. Becki had told me about the cake whilst I had spoken to them in the UK, they took the day out to collect it from Brighton and to me the cake sums up the attention to detail Becki and Russell had put into their whole day. Here are some photos from the day.
