James and Susan's Wedding- Villa San Crispolto, Italy

Romantic Italian Weddings

It was a great early start to the Italian wedding season, returning back to Villa San Crispolto as part of one of our Romantic Italian Weddings. James and Susan chose the villa for their wedding due to the stunning location and breathtaking views.

The day was a very relaxed affair and we had spoken at great length prior to the day about their style of  wedding photography and how they wanted a nice relaxed documentary style. Nice and relaxed is what I do, so a lot of the photos were taken with a long lens without people knowing their photos was being taken.

Their day was style in the 1950's feel to it with the styles and place settings of the old 45's featuring as table settings (for those who don't know what an old 45 is, ask your parents!). When the evening disco came on the music theme continued and the dance floor soon filled up and the party really started!

Emily and Bayley's Wedding- The Priory

Yorkshire Wedding Photography- The Priory

I have photographed Emily before for a portfolio shoot and she is always fun to work with. When I got the call from her to say "Mark, I am getting married and I will only have you as my photographer" I was pretty pleased with that! It is always great to work for clients who you know or have met at other weddings who see your work and when they are ready to get married we all meet again.

Emily looked amazing on her wedding day, when we spoke about her dress she said it was one that she never expected to pick. When she put it on it looked beautiful, there was not a dry eye in the house. Bayley looked pretty proud on the day and the church was packed out with family and friends to share their day.

The reception was held at The Priory on the south side of Harrogate. It is a fantastic wedding venue giving a very personal feel to the day. Emily's father likes to celebrate with fireworks and could not resist creating his own firework display for his daughter. It was a great day and certainly ended up with a bang!

Philippa and David's Wedding- Middleton Lodge

Yorkshire Wedding Photography- Middleton Lodge

A few days prior to the wedding I spoke to Philippa who said to me "there might be a dusting of snow". As I drove north to Middleton Lodge the dusting of snow became heavier, and heavier!! By the time I got to the grounds of Middleton Lodge the dusting was a couple of inches. The snow made a stunning winter wonderland and set the grounds in a beautiful surrounding. I put my Hunter wellies on and a nice thick winter jacket to join the boys who were clay pigeon shooting. It was great fun and a great start to the day. There were suggestions that real real pigeons could have been used because Dave's shot was so bad (sorry Dave their words not mine!!). I then went to spend some time with the girls for her bridal preparations.

Philippa was so relaxed and chilled, it was great when her friends arrived with a magnum of Velive Clicquot champagne. It was an emotional walk down the stairs for Phillipa, she was greated at the bottom of the stairs by Dave and all her family and friends. It was an emotional service made even more personal with a couple of heart felt readings.

The speeches gave opportunity for some funny past stories about the groom with the bride looking on with a smile. The results of the clay pigeon shooting were also announced to quite some amusement! With the wedding breakfast complete, the party continued into the evening in the Cellar Bar. Now every wedding venue should have one of these, an underground playground complete with bar, surround sound cinema, chill out rooms and a bride and groom who were definitely up for a party!! After the first dance the party really got started and I am sure it won't on well into the early hours. Thanks to Philippa and Dave for letting me be part of their day, thanks also to all the staff at Middleton Lodge who made it such a special wedding day.
