ALDWARK MANOR WEDDING FAYRE

On Sunday I will be at Aldwark Manor, Near York one of our favourite wedding venues. It is a beautiful 4 star hotel with stunning grounds, allowing us to create some beautiful photographs examples of which will be there on Sunday.

Please pop along between 11.30 and 3.30pm to say hi and have a look at our stand. I will be very happy to talk through your wedding plans and give you some ideas about what Riff Raff Photography can offer you.

Vicki and Garrett- Wedding Rogerthorpe Manor

It was a great start to the 2012 wedding season with Vicki and Garrett's wedding at Rogerthorpe Manor. The venue is a very popular Yorkshire wedding venue and made a great setting for their wedding. Vicki and Garrett are such characters, always laughing and you can see the love they have for each other. We had a great day capturing the girls getting ready through to their amazing band that rocked into the evening.

Here are a few photos from the day, if you want to see a few more join us on Facebook by clicking here.

Evelyn

Last weekend saw me up in Aberdeen for a series of family portrait shots. A group of friends asked me to come up to photograph three families before one of them, Evelyn departs for Dubai.

Evelyn has the sweetest little girl, who was a little camera shy on the day! The rest of their photos will be online very soon before they leave the UK. Here are a few for the time being.

Paloma

Paloma came into Mike and Justine's life only a few weeks ago. They were former wedding clients of mine and of course great friends. Everyone was overjoyed with the news of Paloma's arrival and I wanted to capture that amazing bond that can be felt by any new parent.

Paloma was a dream to work with and it was a pleasure to be part of Mike and Justine's next stage of their marriage. These images will be enjoyed the world over as they have friends in New Zealand who, I know are very keen to see these images.

Enjoy ;-)

I met a great supplier at a recent wedding that was held at Wood Hall. Becky runs Chairwear of Harrogate who supply chair covers for weddings. You can see some of her work here www.chair-wear.co.uk

Becky has kindly put an offer forward for any of my clients or website followers.

Our special offer price per chair cover including organza sash starts at £4.00, including Set-up, Laundry and collection the following day. However if booked before the end of January we are offering a 10% Discount.

At Chair Wear, our goal is to dress your venue with elegant but affordable chair covers giving you the beautiful finished look to your event.
Our chair covers have 2 rear skirt pleats for ease of fitting and elegance. They are made from polyester twill, which is one of the best materials for chair covers, as it is thicker and heavier than plain polyester and creases less. The contoured joined panels and stitching ensure that the chair cover looks sharps whilst remaining its strength and durability throughout your event.

The Importance of Photography

I am a big believer of the power of photography, I spend my days talking to clients explaining the importance of just that. I feel that a photograph needs to have impact, grab your attention and make your heart flutter. This can be a wedding photo, a portrait photo, or a photo of someone who is very dear to you. Without that impact when you see it, it is just a photograph.

I have been a little distracted for the last six months, why I hear you say? I am very proud to have a brother-in-law who is a Marine and for the last six months he has been in Afghanistan on the front line. There has not been a day that has gone by where I have not thought of him. With minimal contact, a few emails here and there, you are always left hoping they will be safe and well. Then one day I got a photograph which was impactive, grabbed my attention and just filled me with emotion and filled me with pride. It is moments like this that make photography such an important thing, and here is that shot.

In the current economic times we find ourselves in I understand clients need to keep a closer eye on their wedding budget. Weddings are expensive but they make fantastic memories and photography is a key part of that day. You cannot put a price on fantastic photography, recording every part of the day so that in years to come when you see your photos, your heart will skip a beat. At the end of the day some parts of the wedding only last the day, photos are timeless and are incredibly powerful- just like the one above!

I was recently in Plymouth to welcome my brother-in-law return back to the UK. Again all very proud moments that I will not forget, now I can be a little less distracted knowing he is home safe!
